Farewell from Jon Platt, CEO, Air bp

Jon Platt
After over 30 years with bp, I will be stepping down as Air bp CEO at the end of June.

Since joining bp as a graduate engineer, I have had the privilege of working in a number of businesses, across three continents, and have been through both challenging and rewarding times in equal measure. More importantly, I have had the opportunity to work with unquestionably the most talented, committed and caring colleagues I could ever have hoped to meet.

My time in Air bp will always be one of my fondest memories and I am very proud of what we have achieved over recent years. We have continued to develop our customer offer through expanding our footprint into new markets, investing in digital through our Airfield Automation technology and in lower carbon alternatives.

The past few months have been testing times for the aviation industry. As we all respond to the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we at Air bp remain committed to safe, reliable fuelling operations. As always, if you have any questions about refuelling, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your account manager.

My successor, Martin Thomsen, has been with bp for 15 years and has held several positions across the Downstream business. He joins Air bp from his previous position as retail director and fuels country integrator for Austria, Switzerland and Turkey. You will hear more from Martin once he is in role in July.

Take care and stay safe.

Jon Platt,

CEO, Air bp
