Release date:
March 2019
Aerial view of Rio de Janeiro
If you’re heading to Rio Carnival at the beginning of March, then both Santos Dumont (SDU/ SBRJ) and Rio de Janeiro International (GIG/ SBGL) are convenient gateways to the city

Just 2km from the city, Santos Dumont which primarily handles domestic air traffic is the smaller of Rio de Janeiro’s two airports and is perfectly suited to general and business aviation. The airport is open from 06.00 to 22.00 Monday to Sunday and Jet A-1 is available. Meanwhile Rio de Janeiro International, which is also known as Galeão International Airport, is open 24 hours. General and business aviation customers are well catered for with 13 FBO/ handlers on site.

Held annually Rio Carnival, which dates back to 1723, is considered the biggest carnival in the world with two million people per day taking to the streets to samba, sparkle and celebrate their way through the festival. It’s certainly a spectacle to be seen!
