Life in the fast lane in Faro

Release date:
November 2020
Motorbike riders at MotoGP race
For motorcycle fans all eyes will be on southern Portugal later this month. On 22 November the MotoGP will be held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve near Portimao. For those competing in the race or arranging travel for drivers and their support teams, Faro Algarve Airport (FAO/ LPFR) is a convenient option

The airport is just 40 minutes away from the famous racing circuit and provides easy access to all that the Algarve has to offer. For business and general aviation customers it features a VIP lounge, customs clearance and a selection of FBOs with handling agents on site. The airport is open 24/7 and Jet A-1 is available here.

This year marks the return of the Portuguese Grand Prix for the first time since 2012. All eyes are likely to be on Portuguese driver Miguel Oliveira as he races for a place on the podium.

Aside from motorcycle racing, the Algarve has plenty to offer visitors all year round. The eastern coast of the region is dominated by the Ria Formosa National Park. In central Algarve the beautiful town of Silves is home to the incredibly well-preserved Moorish Castle (Castelo de Silves). Meanwhile Faro itself has a brilliant mix of cultural attractions, shops and restaurants.
