Celebrating our fifth Sterling Pilot Scholar 

 

In September this year, we announced our fifth Sterling Scholar, Kristoff Ahlner. On the 21 November Kristoff joined his fellow scholars for the annual ‘graduation’ ceremony arranged by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots.  Congratulations Kristoff!

Dubai deals a winning hand

 

Last month the eyes of the world’s aerospace industry were on Dubai as one of the industry’s biggest air shows took place. We were thrilled to be part of the action, taking over the whole entrance area inside. We also rolled out our digital Airfield Automation technology to refuel training aircraft at the Emirates Flight Training Academy at Al Maktoum International Airport.

 

This is the first location in the region to benefit from the new technology. Speaking at the airshow, Robert Gerritsen, general manager for Air BP Middle East and Northern Africa said: “We are delighted to be exhibiting at the Dubai Air Show and to be rolling out Airfield Automation at Emirates Flight Training Academy. Our success in the Middle East is based on our track record in safe and reliable operations. With this new technology, we are providing an engineering barrier to help prevent misfuelling which is good news for our region and good news for our industry.”
