It might be renowned as the birthplace of Lego, but did you know Billund has another claim to fame? It’s home to the second largest airport in Denmark – Billund Airport (BLL/ EKBI). 

 

A family friendly destination, Billund is famed for its Lego factory and Legoland theme park. However, there is plenty to see here other than the coloured building blocks loved by children around the world. 

 

Escape from the summer heat at Lalandia waterpark or sip on a cold beer at the Billund Brewery. Alternatively learn about traditional weaving techniques at the House of Ølholm or take a wander around Billund Skulpturpark . The region surrounding the city is laden with beautiful old churches, some dating back to the 14th and 16th centuries. And for fine dining, high-end boutiques, a spa trip or a round of golf then the Danish hotspot Vejle is just 30km away. 

 

Situated less than 2km from the centre of Billund, the airport is a popular cargo hub, but it also has a dedicated business and general aviation centre catering for executive and private flights. The airport is open seven days a week from 05.00 to 23.00.
