Strengthening our ties with London Biggin Hill

Release date:
June 2019
Plane taking off at London Biggin Hill airport
If you’re heading to the UK capital, then you’ll be pleased to hear that London Biggin Hill (BQH/ EGKB) has renewed its contract for Air BP to supply Jet A-1 and Avgas, while providing safety, technical and operational support.

Following a successful collaboration that’s lasted 25 years we are proud to reveal that London Biggin Hill has renewed its contract with Air BP and as a result we will continue to supply the airport with Jet A-1 and Avgas.

The dedicated business aviation airport is located just 12 miles from central London and has been identified by WingX as one of the fastest growing airports in Europe.

In 2017 the airport extended its opening hours and is now open from 06.30-23.00 during the week and from 08.00-22.00 at the weekends, so it’s hugely convenient for our customers travelling from the US. Indeed the extended opening hours have resulted in a 60% rise in intercontinental traffic at Biggin Hill.

We know that time is of the essence for many of our customers and for those wanting to access the heart of the UK capital quickly and efficiently, Biggin Hill offers a six-minute transfer via London-Heli Shuttle to Battersea helipad. What’s more the airport introduced a new streamlined pricing structure in May to support the uninterrupted flow of business aviation traffic into the city.

“This contract renewal marks over 25 years of continued support and trust in Air BP, who continue to reliably supply us with fuel and provide high quality, safe operations,” said Robert Walters, business development director, London Biggin Hill Airport.
