At our own Air BP tent, fans were asked to vote for their favourite pilots. We had almost 6000 people vote. There was overwhelming support for the European hopeful Martin Šonka, which is hardly surprising given that many Czech fans had travelled all the way to Hungary to support him.
Red Bull Air Race fans, customers and our Air BP employees had fun taking photos with their favourite ‘cut out’ pilots in our tent. There was certainly a lot of laugher had by all.
In addition, a massive 10,000 people took photos of the #Airrace recycling ‘bin’ in the fan zone. The Air BP installation, part art and part a fun photo opportunity also had a serious message to encourage people to recycle and not just bin their cans. As both the Air Race’s fuel provider and lower carbon partner, we were proud to champion the lower carbon message.
Our customers and employees alike had a great time enjoying on land and on the water pylon tours, meeting the race director and the pilots in their hangars before the race on Sunday. Everyone had their cameras out as they met their favourites and enjoyed what was an unforgettable experience.
The next race will be in Japan, 8 – 9 September.
