We look back at the last ever Red Bull Air Race

Release date:
October 2019
Red Bull Air Race podium with three pilots holding trophies
After three exciting years as the fuel provider and carbon reduction partner for the Red Bull Air Race, it’s finally time to say goodbye. The last Red Bull Air Race was held in the beautiful location of Chiba on 7-8 September. The racing did not disappoint - there was a tight competition at the top between the leading five. A nail-biting conclusion saw Yoshihide Muroya taking gold and Matt Hall ending his 10 year wait to be crowned the Red Bull Air Race World Champion 2019

Amanda Jones, global Air BP marketing manager says “over the last three years we’ve enabled our customers to have extraordinary experiences. Whether it’s taking to the water and seeing the race track by sea, sharing tea and biscuits with racing legends or climbing inside a pylon. These are truly unique experiences. What’s more we’ve met thousands of fans all over the world when the Air BP tour tent has set up in town. We’ve had so many great moments – my best moment was meeting competition winners and surprising them with a VIP upgrade – their absolute delight was infectious!”

So, what does Ben Murphy who achieved a lifetime best think?

“Hungary was my highlight, taking second place is something we all worked so hard for months to achieve. We’ve had an amazing time. We’re always hopeful that the future will see this most exciting of sports come back. We fully intend to push Great Britain to the top next time round.”
