On 12 February BP’s chief executive officer, Bernard Looney, announced our new ambition, to become a net zero company by 2050, and to help the world get there. To deliver that ambition, we are reinventing BP with a wide-ranging reorganization. We also commit to performing while transforming - operating safely and reliably as well as delivering on the promises we've made to shareholders

In his first speech as chief executive officer, Bernard announced BP's new purpose, to reimagine energy for people and our planet, a new net zero ambition and 10 supporting aims.
Invited guests watched the speech in the room while some 16,000 joined the live webcast.
Our new ambition tackles Scope 3 head on.
