Enhancing school teachers’ innovative teaching capabilities

BP and its co-venturers in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Shah Deniz and South Caucasus Pipeline projects – SOCAR, TPAO, PETRONAS, Chevron, LUKOIL, NICO, Equinor, INPEX, ExxonMobil, SGC, ITOCHU, ONGC, TOTAL, Eni – today presented a high school curriculum methodology manual and a terminology dictionary for teachers to help raise the quality of teaching in schools and other educational institutions. The books have been produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan

 

The project is part of BP’s and its co-venturers’ commitment to supporting educational development  and enhancing local capabilities and skills at all levels. It aims to equip teachers and those who are planning to apply for teacher positions, with curricular guidelines that will help them improve their innovative teaching capabilities.

 

“We believe it is a valuable guidebook for teachers to curriculum methodology and the comprehensive dictionary, which comprises the new curriculum teaching terminology, provides additional directions to how they can best apply the innovative and advanced teaching methods and approaches.  Teachers play a key role in developing, implementing, assessing and modifying the school curricula. By supporting this book, we wanted to highlight this key role of teachers and support them in their efforts to continuallyim prove the quality of teaching and overall education in the country. We hope both current and future teachers will benefit from this publication.”

The total value of this project is about 60,000 AZN.

 

The project was implemented by the AzEdu LLC.

 

As part of the project 500 books and 3,000 dictionaries have been published and these will be presented to teachers and educational
experts as well as donated to schools and other educational institutions.

 

To ensure wider access, the electronic versions of the book and the dictionary will be placed on the www.AzEdu.az website.
