Four ways our project has progressed through 2024: 

 

  • Front end engineering design work – Our partners, Costain and Technip, have continued to make good progress developing the designs for the project. Find out more in this Northern Echo interview
     
  • Final negotiations with UK Government – In August, we agreed a statement of principles with the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Read more
 
  • Completion of latest consultation – In October, we completed the latest consultation on our project, focused on additional changes we’re planning to make to our proposals for H2Teesside. Find out more here.  
 
  • Launch of second scholarship cohort – Redcar and Cleveland College launched its second cohort for the Teesside Clean Energy Technician scholarship, which is backed by bp. Hear more from the new scholars here
