Teluk Bintuni Regency, Papua Barat Province – SKK Migas and Tangguh LNG, in partnership with the Satunama Foundation, held a leadership and organizational management training for young people in Teluk Bintuni. Themed "Self-Discovery," the programme aimed to help participants develop leadership skills and prepare them to make a positive impact in their communities.
The training was held in two sessions: 4-6 November at the Tomu District Office and 7-9 November at SMP Negeri Babo in Babo District. A total of 33 youth from Tomu and Babo Districts participated, including members of church youth groups, mosque youth groups, and the District KNPI. Local leaders and officials, including representatives from the government, police, military, and community organizations, also supported the event.
“We want to equip the youth of Teluk Bintuni with the skills and confidence to become leaders who can bring positive changes to their communities,” said Muksin Inai from Tangguh LNG at the opening session in Tomu.
The training covered topics like self-awareness, leadership values, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational management. Using hands-on methods such as games, group discussions, and presentations, the sessions were designed to be practical and engaging.
“This programme has helped participants build confidence and leadership skills that are essential for advancing their communities,” said acting head of Tomu District, Mr. Parman, at the closing session.
In Babo District, Tangguh LNG representative Rosalina Rumbino expressed pride in the participants. “We hope they can apply what they’ve learned in their organizations and benefit their communities,” she said.
Participants found the training highly relevant, boosting their confidence in leading and solving challenges. They also hope similar programmes will continue in the future.
This training is part of Tangguh LNG’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities in Teluk Bintuni, supporting youth as key drivers of positive change.
Tangguh LNG is Indonesia's largest gas producer, contributing 35% of the country’s natural gas production. Operating since 2009, Tangguh includes offshore gas production facilities that supply three liquefaction trains, each with a capacity of 3.8 million metric tons per year (mtpa).
