Phase 1 of the Cypre drilling programme of four subsea wells is completed, and the subsea construction work is underway to get ready for first gas in 2025. The majority of the subsea infrastructure was installed in the second half of this year, including the manifold, umbilical, and portions of the flowline and riser system. Work currently being undertaken includes the installation of flexible flowlines – which will route the hydrocarbons from the Cypre field to the existing Juniper platform – and the associated subsea control systems.Phase 2 of the Cypre drilling programme is scheduled to begin later in 2025.
Cypre is bpTT’s next major offshore gas project – and its third subsea development following Juniper and Matapal – that will connect natural gas production from the Cypre wells into bpTT’s pipeline network off Trinidad’s southeast coast.
Completion of the first phase of drilling is a major milestone for the project. Cypre forms part of bpTT’s strategy of maximizing production by leveraging existing infrastructure using innovative solutions to bring gas to the market faster.
