Following Friday’s earthquake, BP’s office building in Anchorage has been inspected and found to be structurally sound. All oil and gas operations on the North Slope and related supply chain also continue as normal. With substantial road damage and school closures across the region, we have closed the BP Alaska office in Anchorage through Tuesday, cancelled all non-essential work and encouraged employees to work from home for the full the week of Dec. 3. At BP Alaska, our top priority remains the safety of our employees and their families as the region recovers from the earthquake.
The safety of our employees and their loved ones is BP’s highest priority and our primary focus at this time. We have evacuated staff from our office building in Anchorage and are surveying the building for damage. We are also working closely with our North Slope employees to provide any support they need. Our thoughts are with all of those in Alaska affected by the earthquake.
