Protective coatings – field application

Pipe coating

Field applied coatings are often required to protect short runs of uncoated buried pipe, fittings, weld joints, valves, anchors, tees, etc.

 

Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency with surface preparation and the selection and application of pipeline coating material.

Lessons include:

 

  • Factors and considerations for coating selection.
  • Proper surface preparation and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Coating materials, their properties, and application requirements.
